Interview: Ann Coulter
Divisive or not, Ann Coulter is already a fixture in the U.S. for her bold, if not abrasive, opinions. Her two cents on key issues have incensed many American liberals, Ann being a headstrong neo-conservative.
Due to her polemical right-wing remarks, Ann was once referred to as the “Paris Hilton of Conservatism.” Coulter caused a stir in her first appearances on 24-hour news outlets and political talk shows in the 1990s. She has been profiled by Time, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, TV Guide, New York Observer, The Guardian, and National Journal.
Ann Coulter has penned no less than six books, beginning with High Crimes and Misdemeanors: The Case Against Bill Clinton in August 1998. She followed it with Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right, Treason: Liberal Treachery From the Cold War to the War on Terrorism, How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must), and Godless: The Church of Liberalism. In October 2007, she released If Democrats Had Any Brains, They’d Be Republicans. All are New York Times bestsellers.
Presently, Coulter serves as the legal affairs correspondent for Human Events and maintains a column for the Universal Press Syndicate.
From the get-go, Coulter has been conservative, having been raised in such family in New Canaan, Connecticut in the 1960s. She graduated cum laude with a degree in arts and sciences from Cornell University School. Afterwards, she finished a law course at the University of Michigan, where she edited The Michigan Law Review.
Ann penetrated television first as a commentator on MSNBC. The network would later sack her for expressing contentious comments. Since then, television programs such as The Today Show, The Tonight Show with David Leno, Good Morning America, Hannity and Colmes, The Glen Beck Show, and Real Time with Bill Maher have sought her novel perspectives.
In one episode of The Today Show, Ann Coulter clashed with host Katie Couric in the run-up to the release of her 2002 book, Slander.
