Interview: Ali Larter

Alison Elizabeth Larter is best known for playing the characters of Niki Sanders, a fictional character who suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder, and Tracy Strauss, the long-separated identical sister of Niki Sanders, in one of NBC’s popular sci-fi dramas, Heroes.

Ali Larter was born on the 28th of February 1976 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She is one of those girls who started out as a model but gracefully made the transition towards acting. As a model, Ali Larter began her career at the early age of 13. After starring in a Phillies commercial, she was signed into the Ford Modeling Agency in New York.

Her modeling stints brought her to places like Japan, Australia, and Italy. It was after she met Amy Smart, a fellow model who soon became a close friend of hers, when Ali Larter started to consider being an actress. Sharing the same aspirations, the two moved to LA together to pursue a career in acting.

Ali Larter eventually landed a series of professional roles in 1997. That year, she appeared in a number of television shows including Chicago Sons and Brooke Shields’ famous television series, Suddenly Susan. Following these roles, Ali Larter then appeared in several other shows such as Just Shoot Me!, Chicago Hope, and Dawson’s Creek.

She started her film career in 1999, after she landed a role in Varsity Blues, which earned a domestic box office gross of more than $50 million. Following her break in the film industry, Ali Larter was also cast in several teen comedies including Drive Me Crazy and Giving It Up. That same year, Ali Larter also played a role in the remake of the horror film House on Haunted Hill. Her performance in the movie helped her land a lead role in Final Destination, which turned out to be a box office hit.
