Blake Lively is an American actress who is best known for her breakthrough role in the movie The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, which got her a Teen Choice Award nomination, and eventually her role in CW Network’s drama show, Gossip Girl.

Born Blake Christina Lively on August 25, 1987 in Tarzana, California, Lively comes from a family of actors and is the youngest of five children. She is the daughter of Ernie and Elaine Lively who are both actors; her two sisters, Lori and Robyn, and two brothers, Jason and Eric, are all actors too. Lively made her film debut at ten where she played as the Tooth Fairy in the movie Sandman, which was directed by her father. After the movie’s production, she concentrated on her studies and attended Burbank High School. In her student years she became class president, cheerleader, and member in the National Show Choir.

Blake Lively’s big break came when she landed a role in the movie The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, in 2005, wherein her real-life father also played as her father in the film. In 2006, she starred in the summer flick Accepted, which co-stars Justin Long. She also starred in Simon Says and Elvis and Anabelle. In the same year, she won the Breakthrough Award from Hollywood Life for her role in Accepted.

Lively has also appeared on several magazine covers such as Cosmo Girl, Lucky, Teen Vogue, and NYLON.

Blake Lively currently stars in the television show, Gossip Girl, which premiered in 2007. The hit show is based on the famous book series about fortunate teenagers who go to an elite private school in New York City.

Lively will again be appearing in the sequel to The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, set to be released in 2008.
