Interview: Gurbaksh Chahal
Gurbaksh Singh Chahal, a self made multi-millionaire, was born on the 17th of July 1982 in Punjab, India. At the young age of 25, this successful entrepreneur and author has established two advertising companies that are worth more than $300 million.
A year after he was born, his entire family had moved to the United States and settled in San Jose, California. With less than $30 dollars in their pocket, Gurbaksh’s parents had struggled to work for menial jobs in order to raise Gurbaksh and his three other siblings.
Gurbaksh Chahal started ClickAgents, his first business venture, at the age of 16. His first company operated as an advertising network that specialized on performance-based advertising. After two years, Gurbaksh Chahal agreed to sell the advertising network to ValueClick in a $22 million all-stock merger.
In January 2004, he had formed another advertising network named BlueLithium. This time, instead of selling it to his competitor, Gurbaksh Chahal managed to push the network into being named as Top Innovator by AlwaysOn. BlueLithium was also recognized in a Business 2.0 article as the innovator of the online advertising space.
In 2009, Gurbaksh Chahal launched the third of his business advertising ventures, gWallet. Currently serves as the CEO and Chairman of the company, which operates as a virtual currency platform for social media.
Apart from launching a series of advertising companies, Gurbaksh Chahal is also an author. Last October 2008, he has published a book entitled The Dream. In addition to books, Gurbaksh Chahal also shares and inspires other people through other mediums. He is a motivational speaker and a TV personality.
