Kaza Kingsley is the author of the Erec Rex fantasy books, her first books ever published.
The Erec Rex series debuted in 2006 with The Dragon’s Eye, which introduces the titular lead as he goes on a quest to save his mother and the fantastic realm only known as Alypium. With its monarchy under siege, twelve-year old Erec Rex takes it upon himself to save this realm where he has been mysteriously plunged into. The sequel, Erec Rex: The Monsters of Otherness, was released in 2007.
Critically, Erec Rex drew comparisons right off the bat to J.K. Rowling’s preeminently successful Harry Potter books. But Kaza Kingsley’s books have come into their own, earning accolades like Best Children’s Fiction 2006, USA Book News.com, ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year award, Bill Fisher Best New Book award ‘07, and Benjamin Franklin Awards.
Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, Kaza Kingsley sits down with Fox to set the record straight about comparisons with Harry Potter. In the end, Kingsley says the comparisons are, if anything, flattery at its finest. Kaza Kingsely was a self-published author, doing all her own marketing and distribution before she hit it big.
Erec Rex: The Search for Truth is the third installment released in 2008.
