Twenty nine-year old French actress Eva Gaëlle Green was born on the 5th of July 1980. In 2006, she was chosen to play alongside Daniel Craig in the James Bond film Casino Royale. Her portrayal of Ian Fleming’s fictional character, Vesper Lynd, earned her a BAFTA award.

Eva Green is the daughter of Swedish dentist Walter Green and the famous French actress Marlène Jobert. She was raised in France and sent to the American School of Paris. As a young girl, Eva Green developed an interest in Egyptology and acting. At the age of seven, she visited the Louvre Museum. At 17, she attended the St. Paul Drama School, where she stayed for three years. After which, Eva Green further honed her skills as a theatre actress by spending an additional 10 weeks at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London before she moved to New York to train at the New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

After she returned to her hometown Paris to perform in various plays, Eva Green became a nominee for a Moliere Award for her role in Jalousie en Trois Fax. In 2002, she was discovered by Director Bernardo Bertolucci, who invited her to star in The Dreamers in 2003. Eva Green’s performance in her film debut was well received and was followed up with Arsene Lupin in 2004. Her earlier performances, especially in The Dreamers, helped her land a role in the 2005 movie Kingdom of Heaven.

Eva Green was noted by the prestigious Vogue magazine for having “killer looks, intelligence and modesty.” Aside from this, she was also described by The Independent as “gothic, quirky, and sexy.” These descriptions might just be the reason why she has landed several modeling jobs, aside from being busy with her acting career. So far, she as modeled for Lancome, Heineken, Breil, Emporio Armani, and Christian Dior.
