Victoria Caroline Adams is better known as Posh, the fifth member of the Spice Girls, one of the most successful female groups ever. Apart from the quintet she is renowned as wife to football athlete David Beckham.

Posh Spice is a distinguished performer; she and her fellow bandmates having sold over 55 million records worldwide. They have been in fact the fastest-selling female group in history. Quite apart from anything else, the Spice Girls were famous for projecting an ostentatious image injected with a brand of feminism that came to be known worldwide as Girl Power. Their first single, “Wannabe,” was released in 1996 and became the biggest-selling single of all time by a female group.

Victoria Adams became a Spice Girl when she made the cut among 400 women who responded to an ad looking for female singers in 1993. Victoria was grouped with Melanie Janine “Scary” Brown, Emma Lee “Baby” Bunton, Melanie Jayne “Sporty” Chisholm, and Geri Estelle “Ginger” Halliwell, who inexplicably left the band in May 1998. On their own, the Spice Girls continued to attract attention thereafter in the press, but not as much as Victoria’s romance with Beckham.

Victoria met David in March 1997. David, then playing for Manchester United, had been crushing on Victoria for a while. In March 1999, Victoria gave birth to their eldest, Brooklyn, who was later followed by Romeo James and Cruz David. In July, the lovers wed in an $800,000-ceremony in Ireland. David joined the Los Angeles Galaxy team in January 2007, a decision that made the couple move to the U.S. Here, Victoria forged a close friendship with actress Katie Holmes.

Ever the fashion maven, Victoria has created her own clothing line, dVb. She had not left music altogether though. Since 2001, she has made a few attempts to pursue a solo career, the last Spice Girl to do so.

On June 28, 2007, the quintet confirmed their reunion for a world tour and a greatest-hits compilation.
