He is not quite a household name yet, but Sean King is an up and coming financial expert, especially when it comes to doing business in the Far East. Currently a vice president at Park Strategies, Sean King is leading the company’s businesses in Asia, and often goes back and forth between two great financial capitals, New York City and Taipei, Taiwan. When he’s not out drumming up business for Park Strategies, Sean King is a popular go-to expert for television shows for all financial matters in Asia.

Sean King earned an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and an undergraduate degree from the American University in Washington, D.C. Sean King’s career in Asian was launched by a 1998 summer internship in Taipei for Citibank.

Sean King was based in Singapore for both PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Citibank, giving him a unique perspective on Asian business. As an consultant, Sean King, created a Southeast Asian government export finance blueprint and helped launch a credit card in Thailand. Strengthening his ties to Taiwan, Sean King also worked for the New York State Department of Economic Development, and led a trade mission to the island.

Mr. King served as a senior advisor for the United States Department of Commerce in the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service (USFCS). Sean King led the USFCS outreach on U.S. exports to mainland China. Sean King’s fact finding and networking missions included visits to Beijing and Shanghai with Secretary of Commerce Donald Evans, former New York State Governor George Pataki and Marriott International Chairman and CEO J.W. Marriott, Jr.

For those in the know about Asian business, Sean King is a speaker in high demand. Sean King has addressed the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business five times, including an in-depth lecture about the 2008 Taiwan elections. Sean King is a frequent guest on Bloomberg-TV and CNBC-Asia. Sean King has also penned numerous articles for the Seoul Times, Singapore Straits Times, Taiwan Security Research, South China Morning Post, New York Times, Korea Times, Notre Dame Business, and Topics (the official magazine of the American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan).
